Visiting the Pumpkin Patch
with your Toddler
Don’t
you just love fall and Halloween time? With the weather cooling down it is
a great time to do family activities, and taking your toddler to the
pumpkin patch is a family favorite.
Pumpkin Patches can be
found all over the country, so there is sure to be one close by.
The easiest way to
find pumpkin patches in your area is to do an online search - type in your
city with the words "pumpkin patch", or “Pumpkin Festival”. Also check
out your local newspaper and monthly city guides. You will be surprised at
the number of events you’ll find.
Pumpkin Patches almost
always sell pumpkins and have games and activities such as corn mazes, hay
rides, and animal petting areas.
Pumpkin Patches on
actual farms often sell goods such as fruits, vegetables, and crafts- so
be sure to bring some extra money.
Some pumpkin patches
are free - usually the ones that just sell pumpkins, but others have an
entrance fee that you might want to check into before heading out. These
pumpkin patches are more of the festival type with games and crafts as
mentioned above.
You will most
definitely want to bring your camera to get some cute pictures of your
little one and all the pumpkins. You will see lots of families taking
pictures, and many times children are dressed in cute Halloween attire.
Once you get there, have your toddler help you pick out the perfect
pumpkin and then take it home and carve or decorate it as a family.
Spending this time
together and making memories is truly priceless. Make going to the pumpkin
patch a family tradition that your children will remember in years to
come!
